Kenburn announces EOT acquisition

Kenburn Employee Ownership Trust

ST. ALBANS, HERTS – 20th September 2017 – Kenburn Waste Management Limited, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of waste management equipment, can today formally announce that the business has been acquired by an EOT.

The Kenburn Employee Ownership Trust has appointed four Trustees to serve the long-term interests of the company and its employees. Former owners Barry Walsh and David Hall have been appointed as Trustees, continuing to lend their help and assistance to the company, whilst Director Gail Foxcroft and a representative of Landers Accountants Limited will also serve as Trustees.

The company can also announce that Barry Walsh, who has been a part of Kenburn since its inception 30 years ago this month, has formally resigned from his role of Director. Former co-owner David Hall will continue in his director role in a non-operational capacity.

“We want to thank Barry and David for making Kenburn the business she is today”, commented Gail Foxcroft, Director. “The trust will acquire the company from Barry and David to the benefit of all Kenburn employees, yet we will still benefit from their vast knowledge and experience of the industry”.

“For the staff, this means continuity of employment and for Barry & David, they are happy to exit the business knowing Kenburn will be run in its own long-term interests”, continued Gail Foxcroft.

2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Kenburn’s founding. The company started trading on 22nd September 1987, and will celebrate the occasion marked by this change in ownership. However, Gail Foxcroft is already looking ahead to the future and toasted, “here’s to the next 30 years!”
