Karen’s Walk the Walk Moon Walk

On Saturday night at midnight, Karen and the last group of the 17,000 Walk the Walk Moonwalkers left Clapham Common to embark of their London marathon speed walk to raise money for Breast Cancer.Karen's Moon Walk Group - KenburnKaren (pictured on the left) successfully completed the walk, with her walking App showing that she’d completed 27.36 miles in 7.41 mins, burning 3,426 calories.   Karen commented “I made light work of the first 13 miles, had motivational assistance from a group dressed as lepricorns from miles 13 to 19, but left them when they stopped for a break. I made quite a meal of the last 7 or so miles, but hit the finishing line at 7.30am.  I taught my aerobics class – of a fashion at 10am on that Sunday morning, iced my legs and was in bed by midday.”

Karen added “with the exception of minor aches and a blister which I managed to get when walking from the finishing line to the bag collection area and then on to the tube home, I can report all is well.  I’m raising money for Breast Cancer – thank you to everyone who supported me.  It’s not too late to donate though, my page is still open for donations https://www.justgiving.com/about/info/goodbye-edh-hello-justgiving

Last year Walk the Walk purchased over 550 scalp cooling machines to aid patients having chemotherapy keep their hair.  Anyone interested in joining me next year?
