Avermann Horizontal Balers
Our Horizontal Balers from Avermann are versatile, cost effective and efficient and can form an integral part of any waste management chain. By removing and baling recyclable waste from your general waste you will save space, time and money.
Highly reliable, built to last and low on energy usage, these Balers are extremely cost-effective to run. All models in the range offer pre-programmable electrical control systems, semi or fully automatic bale tying and a variety of optional extras that can configure these modular machines to suit any customer requirement.
Horizontal balers are the best solution when handling large volumes of packaging materials or waste. The bales produced will either be binded manually by the operator or fully automatically.
The highly-compacted bales require minimum storage space and can be transported easily and cost effectively. The waste material is loaded onto a conveyor and fed into a feeding chute on the horizontal baler. The press cycle is activated by a light-sensitive barrier integrated into the feeding chute. and the speed of the press-ram is controlled according by pressure values. The overall pressing cycle is controlled and adapted to the pressure, time and distance parameters. The ram is retracted automatically to the basic position and the pressing cycle restarts.

Longevity and low power requirement as well as high reliability of the machine guarantee high efficiency of Avermann horizontal balers. These high-performance balers are fitted with output-controlled drive pumps. They consume less energy at the maximum performance level.
The benefits of our Horizontal Baler range
- Fully-automatic baling cycle
- Semi and fully-automatic Wire tying
- Highly efficient, low-noise operation
- Reliable, low maintenance machines

Horizontal balers with automatic binding
The Avermann fully-automatic horizontal balers operate according to the ‘cutting edge‘ principle. In this type of operation, the cutting knife is brought on the upper side of the press ram. Counter knives are also fitted within the machine framework. The waste material is put into the feeding chute of the press and is inserted into the channel by means of a press-ram. Any material that projects beyond the press-ram is cut out with two knives. Should the press-ram fail to shear any pre-compressed material, a free rammer is automatically activated, which presses the material downwards in front of the counter-knife. This is followed by the compression stoke.

As soon as the bale reaches the pre-set size, it is automatically strapped with a wire. The number of wires depends on the type of machine.
Compact horizontal balers type AVOS 88 and AVOS 108 have a 3-fold strapping while the AVOS 1211, AVOS 1410 and AVOS 1411 have a 4-fold strapping.
Standard machine types AVOS 1410 A5 and AVOS 1810 have a 5-fold strapping.
The AVOS 1810 RK with a 5 fold vertical and 3 fold horizontal strapping is especially recommended for compacting plastic materials or big bags.
The press force on Avermann horizontal balers with automatic binding ranges from 300 kN to 1000 kN. All machines can be fitted with a variety of optional special equipment such as the special press ram on the AVOS 1410 where the slots are released for the lances to go through during the binding process.
Horizontal balers with manual binding
In semi-automatic horizontal balers type AVOS 141, AVOS 147 and AVOS 181, the bales are strapped manually by the baler operator. As soon as the bale is firmly compacted, the machine signals that the bale can be be strapped.
Quick-locking wires are used for binding, which are fastened together at the end of the existing loops.
Apart In addition to 4-fold strapping, the machines can be also delivered with a cross-strapping option. Manual cross-binding enables smooth and easy compaction of bulky, difficult-to-compress materials into inherently stable bales.
Optional special equipment includes for example, material re-holders and pre-press flaps, allow the compaction of foam, latex, viscose, and spring steels.
The press force of balers with manual binding equals 500 kN.
With our comprehensive pre and post sales service you can be assured that you’ll have a top quality Baler for years to come, whichever model you choose.
